Description: The development of non-autosomal genetic markers for relationship analysis brings new opportunities for analysis. Speakers at this workshop discuss new advances in the use of STR analysis of Y-Chromosome and X-Chromosome markers as well as mitochondrial DNA sequence analysis. In addition, methods for inclusion of non-autosomal results in calculations are presented.
Objectives: After attending the HITA/ABB Workshop participants will be able to:
- Understand non-autosomal genetic systems
- Determine the types of cases where non-autosomal genetic markers are useful
- Incorporate the statistical power of non-autosomal genetic markers into calculations
